Pick a fragrance you already know and we return five alternatives, ranked by how close they smell to it rather than by how cheap they are. Each one is scored against your pick twice — once on the opening, once on the dry-down — because a scent rarely stays still on skin. Two fragrances can share a citrus opening and part company an hour later, and a single average would hide exactly that. The five are drawn from the whole catalogue, so the closest match is often a house you have never heard of.

What the numbers mean

Every figure is stated against your pick rather than in the abstract. "Lasts eight hours" tells you nothing until you know the original lasts six.

Similarity: How close the two smell overall. Past roughly 85% most people stop describing it as similar and start calling it the same thing.
Opening / dry-down: Scored separately. The opening is the first few minutes in the air; the dry-down is what remains after a few hours — and the dry-down is the part you actually wear.
Longevity, projection, sillage: How long it lasts, how far it throws, and the trail it leaves behind. Each is shown against your pick, so "longer" and "softer" are the reading rather than the raw numbers.
